Hamilton 5A Swiss Pairs - Format and Regulations
Please ensure your Partner has read this information
FORMAT
3 sessions on consecutive Wednesday evenings starting at 7.30pm. 18 June. 25 June and 2 July.
Players have entered for all 3 nights.
Format is 3 X 9 board matches each evening.
Time: 63 minutes will be allowed for each round.
Late arrival/Slow play will be a warning and then application of penalty for subsequent infringements.
System Cards:
Each pair should have a fully completed system card which is available to be emailed to the Director on request.
Permitted Systems:
These are available in the NZB Manual 2022 pp D44-D50. HUMS and Yellow systems are NOT allowed due to the requirements for written defenses to be attached to the opponents’ system card.
(as per NZB Regulations for NI Teams online 2023)
Explain and Alert: A brief pre-alert should be posted in the chat for your opponents when you arrive at the table - no more than 8 lines.
Mis click: It is strongly suggested that all players have the double-click or two-tap option turned on to avoid accidentally clicking the wrong call or card play
It will be unusual for undo’s to be allowed unless there is a demonstrably good bridge reason for doing so. If an undo is allowed it will be under Law 25 and therefore no change can be allowed if the partner has made a call.
Cell Phones: Cell phones should be turned off during matches unless the Director has specifically requested a player to use one for communication.
Environment: Players should be aware of the environment they are in and what is able to be seen by other players joining their table. Players must have control and responsibility for their own presentation and that of people and signage in view of their camera or range of their microphone.
Real Bridge cameras must remain on at all times during a match.
Technical requirements and Responsibilities
It is each player’s responsibility to ensure that their connection to Real Bridge is stable and that both camera, and sound are working adequately.
Any adjustments during the event caused by computer technical problems and /or RealBridge communication issues will have the players concerned as being at fault.
