Constitution Correction and Updates – 20th July 2026

It is a year since the current version of the constitution was approved at the 2025 SGM and then by the Registrar of Incorporated Societies resulting it having been active for more than 6 months.

Since that date, a couple of small errors have been discovered in the current document

At the regular meeting of the Hamilton Bridge Club Committee July 20th the errors discovered were discussed, the proposed motion below was agreed to and then voted on and approved by the meeting

Motion:
The committee of the Hamilton Bridge Club has voted to modify the Hamilton Bridge Club Constitution v4.1g by the use of Rule 37 - Alterations to rules : Clause 37(e) Minor or technical amendments to :
i. correct a reference error in Rule 32. Special General Meeting – incorrect references in Clauses 32(b) and 32(c) ;
and
ii. Rule 13. Annual subscriptions – restore missing Clause 13(g).
The committee considers that these changes are of a minor nature and the use of Rule 37(e) means it saves the Club holding an SGM.
Should any member of the Club not agree with the Committee that these changes are NOT of a minor nature or a technical alteration and files an objection with the Club then this change will be cancelled and will be referred to a SGM to be held at a future date.

Members have twenty(20) Working Days from the date this notice was sent to the membership being "5 August 2026" - to object to both the method and content changes to the current version of the Constitution V4.1g
