The format of the Swiss Pairs requires an even number of pairs each week so we ask that you commit to playing the 3 days. If you need to miss a session you must organise a replacement(s) to make numbers correct !
If you can't make all three sessions let Lucie know as you can play as a substitute on one or more days if needed but you won't be eligible to win

Welcome to the 2025 Hamilton Bridge Club's Intermediate and Junior Pairs

Saturday 14 March commenced the Hamilton Clubs 2026 Tournament schedule with the Intermediate and Junior Pairs. Numbers in both events were down compared with last year. What was not down were the compliments for what was a very stylish and yummy afternoon tea - thanks to the ladies who prepared it !
The breakdown of the grades of the players in the two events is different - the Junior Pairs is mostly players from Hamilton and the smaller centers in the Waikato. However, the Intermediate Pairs appears to have a far larger percentage from at bigger cities - Rotorua, Tauranga and Auckland. A result maybe of more Open players in the large population areas raising the playing levels ?
The Club says sorry for delay for issues with both events - sometimes things just don't work out as planned.....

Hamilton Members who feature in the 2025 NZ Bridge Baden Wilson List for the top 'A' Point Winners

At the start of each year NZ Bridge releases a list of the top 20 men and women players scoring the most 'A' Points in NZ in the previous calendar year - the Baden Wilson Trophy for men and women
Over the past few years Liz and Blair Fisher have been making this Trophy their own !
Liz having topped the list for the past 4 years and Blair for 3 out of the past 4 years. Backing up Liz in the woman's competition has been Jenny Millington holding a place in each of the same years in the top 10.
Last year joining Liz and Jenny for the first time another Hamilton player - Karen Harris has made her first appearance in the event at 18th place
